The City of Winter Park has a great old town feel and can be restrictive in certain areas of town. One interesting thing about Winter Park is that its mailing addresses are in Orange and Seminole Counties. So if you are outside city limits, you will either be in Unicorporated Orange County or Unicorporated Seminole County. Both are easy to deal with when it comes to fences.
Permitting:
Obtaining permits from the Winter Park Building Department can take a while. Permit applications must be dropped off for review by the planning department, which can take several days. The city also prefers a copy of your HOA approval letter be included with the application packet. A survey is required for the permit and any project over $2500.00 must include a Notice of Commencement. Luckily, we handle all this for you as part of our standard service.
