Florida Pool Code Requirements for Orlando Pools
- 4-sided enclosure requirement (all sides of pool)
- Minimum height: 4 feet (measured from ground to top of fence)
- Gate specifications: self-closing, self-latching, opens outward, latch 54" above ground
- Spacing rules: vertical slats no more than 4 inches apart
- Permit requirements: A permit is required in Orange, Seminole & Volusia counties for pool fences

Owners Note - Seminole county has some very specific code restrictions on pool code compliant fences. One of the major codes is that a double gate is not pool code compliant. So that means a double gate will not work as a pool code compliant access, so that is a no go. The county is also very specific about how high the latch has to be (54" from bottom of gate, not the grade of the ground) and strict ground to fence gap restrictions (2" for gates & 4" anywhere else).
